Amanda J.F. Davis, born and raised in El Paso, Texas, is the daughter of Gillian J.G. Field, founder of ProAction/Immunize El Paso. Amanda has a Bachelor’s of Science in Human Services and has been a dedicated professional in the mental health field for over 26 years, currently serving as a Case Worker at a local mental health agency.

Previously, Amanda supported her mother’s work at ProAction, contributing to the organization’s mission. She is committed to seeing her mother's legacy continue, ensuring ProAction/Immunize El Paso thrives and grows.

Married for 27 years, Amanda values family traditions and is a proud mother and grandmother. Her hobbies include DIY projects, arts and crafts, cosmetology, collecting Venetian masks, and listening to various music genres. Amanda is known for her strong morals, values, and work ethic, qualities instilled in her by her mother, along with perseverance and a unique sense of humor.

PROACTION'S HISTORY

Founded in 1995 by Jill Field. ProAction has emerged to become El Paso’ leading Prehospital Education Provider under the banner ProAction Emergency Services Institute. In addition to EMS Education, ProAction provides EMS & First Aid medical support to special events at venues throughout El Paso County and neighboring communities. Also, ProAction is the leading county vaccine provider under the banner Immunize El Paso.

The community hospital, Providence Memorial Hospital was sold to a for-profit entity and new management was no longer interested in continuing the community health care program. Armed with her funds and passion Jill Field began work to establish programs on her own. She reached out to various medical groups to share her vision that would one day create ProAction.

"She particularly wanted to reach the underserved in our community."

The group's early work included providing medical services at UTEP and the El Paso County Coliseum and doing health checks and vaccines for children in migrant farmers’ communities. ProAction consisted of a first aid, an EMS team and an immunization team which did heathfairs around the city providing immunizations for various diseases.

Once she was able to move the "headquarters" of ProAction out of her study at home, the group found offices at the J. Harold Tillman Health Center near downtown El Paso. With this new facility, services expanded to Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), event medical services, and CPR & First Aid training for the community. We also train instructors and provide continuing education services.

Today, IZEP has three brick-and-mortar locations, in addition to several outreach teams. We partner with all 9 El Paso school districts as well as several business entities. The ProAction Medical Team ensures the safety of El Pasoans at over 1500 events annually. The Institute trains over 100 EMTs yearly and over 20,000 El Paso residents are trained in CPR and other life-saving techniques.

With over 1 million vaccines, 1700 events annually, and more than 40k trained in life-saving techniques, ProAction has grown to become the El Paso leader in providing pre-hospital emergency medicine services, EMT training, event medical services, and CPR & first aid training for the community, and vaccine delivery. Jill once said she was afraid about how big this could get and wow! To her credit, it's grown immensely.
